Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Hi there! I thought you might be interested in seeing some video that Cali and I took at Lindley Farms.
They had a lot of activities for children and Thanksgiving Day was really busy there. Cali ended up making a little friend there too. Her and this little chum had rubber duckie races.
We sure did have a good time. So while we were there we took a wagon ride down to the pumpkin patch and picked our own pumpkins. Here we are just getting on the wagon.

We had a great time that day!

Trip to Brighton with Gran

Hi all, just thought I would show you a couple of pictures from my stay in Brighton with Gran. Trish from work offered us the use of her house trailor for a couple of days at the end of August. Gran and I went up and had a very nice time relaxing and poking around at some of the attractions around Brighton.
So one day we went to Trenton airforce base. We were not sure if there were tours or not but maybe another time we can check it out. They did have a warplane museum just like they have here in Hamilton so we took a walk around that too.
On another day we went to Presqu'ile Provincial Park and had a little drive around. Saw the lighthouse and learned about some shipwreaks in the area.
When we were heading back to town one day we saw a little train museum. It happened to be closed but we got out and had a look at a 100 year old steam engine that was on display. It was pretty neat.

Gran said there were so many things on our trip that had her walking down memory lane.
Then just as we were leaving at the little channel at the end of our road we stopped and got a picture of them collecting the toll and then watched the little bridge spin to let the boats through. It was kind of quaint.

Fabulous Vacation!
I finally had the opportunity to go away on a vacation. A friend from work invited me to go up to Tobermory with him and his wife and niece. The cottage we rented was a good choice as it had a beautiful view and beach on Lake Huron. The bottom was all rock. Solid rock with a few boulders here and there on the bottom and the water was crystal clear. The water was fairly warm and since there are all kinds of deep drop offs you could dive and really play around. We all went into town on our first day and took a boat tour to some wreaks that you could see soooo clearly. It also took us out to flower pot island. We were hoping to get off but we ended up on the wrong tour and our boat didn't stop. Kathy at work had told us about a few attractions other than the boat that we had to see like, Big Tub bakery which had the best butter tarts I have ever had and the Grotto at Cypress Lake National Park. We purchased and rented snorkle equipment and took that with us to the park. I can't tell you how much fun I had snorkling. I bought an underwater camera and got a few pictures and the second underwater camera that Ali bought got a leek and none of the pictures I took at the grotto turned out. I was sooooo disappointed because I got some real good shots and a man took a picture of me waving back up from underwater right near the entrance to an underwater cave. On the way home we stopped at a place called Greig's Caves. They were spectacular! It was very exciting and Gay and Nacy you should take the boys. You would have a hard time getting them to leave its so fun! So, here are the pictures that I do have of my trip.

Top: The cottage. There was a sand there then it turned to flat rock. We were given the use of their Kayak as well. Bottom: Ella, Colin & Hillary standing on the rocky shore in town close to where divers were going in.
Myself, Hillary and Colin on the docks at Tobermory heading off to look at the Three Tugs Wreaks for snorkling.

Top: Ella and Colin standing at the mouth of a cave. It looks like it could be set in Central America. It was so green and rugged. Bottom: I took this picture from inside a cave looking out. The cave was huge! It went a fair ways back too. I was not very far into the cave when I took the picture.

Dragonboat Queen
Yes it has been a long time since I have put a post to the blog. I was hoping to be able to put more personal pictures up but the memory card on my camera was defective and I only managed to save what I had on the internal memory. So I have one nice picture of Nancy and Pepper.
I went to Future Shop and they replaced the memory card so hopefully I will not be in this position again. Sorry Nancy, Gay and Dad, I lost the awesome picture of the three of you at the pond and of the beautiful water lilies.
So you know that every year I turn into the Dragonboat Queen for the Mohawk Dragonflies. I had a blast this year and had a really good team. We came in second twice which is just fantastic! We also came in second in the fundraising and earned ourselves a bottle of wine each and a free admission into the Discovery Centre. Cool eh?
This year I was the caller/drummer so that our team was paddling in synchronicity. They look pretty good eh? All paddles hitting the water at the same time.

Hugs to all !
Yeah its been a while, I am sorry. Nothing has really changed too much here except for Mom's new knee and Nikki has completed grade 7.
Nikki has actually won another award. This year her award is for Academic Acheivement. Bob and I are VERY proud of her. She has done an excellent job and we couldnt be happier with her progress. She has come along way since kindergarden and their opinions of her. Kudos to Nikki and all of her hard work!!
Yes, Nikki is growing he hair again, she plans to donate it again when it becomes long enough. Again we are very proud of her.
I will try to post a little bit more often, hehe. Hugs to all. D

A New Mother
Hi there everyone! I know it has been way too long since the last time I blogged. The latest news for our blog is that we have a mother who is feeling like brand new with her new knees. I haven't had a chance to talk with her personally yet but I understand she is doing well. I can't tell you how happy I am that she has been able to have this surgery.
Things in Hamilton are going okay. School is done here for the college students, so my schedule at work has been changed a lot. I have been sent from one campus to another to cover for vacations and I love it. Greg is still working at Mohawk Hospital Services and John is working at Fox Refrigeration (same company as Dan's). He really likes it and will be taking night school to start picking up his tickets here and there as a start to his apprenticeship. He got himself a new car with Dan's help but financially he is looking after all of the details. Lucky boy! I will try to get a picture of it and post it to the blog. We finally have green grass and warmer temperatures and that means we will all be enjoying out outdoor activities soon. So let's hear what you have been up to eh?
Love you all!

Happy New Year!
So here we are in 2007. Does time fly or what? Christmas and New Years went very well down here and I am happy to be back to work again. I think I am starting to be a bit of a creature of habit needing the routine so badly. I am back to school too doing Saturdays from 9-4 for six weeks. I miss everyone and sure do hope that things are well for all of you.
Calista had a part in the Christmas play at my church. I was so proud of her. She did such a good job. She had 2 lines to remember but she pulled it off well. She was so happy because her other grandmother and grandfather were at the church along with her mother and dad and of course Gran and myself. I don't have any pictures since my camera is no longer but I am ferverently saving Shopper's Drug Mart points in an effort to use the discount to get another one, one of these days.
Boxing day was pretty good too. We all met at Dad's this year and the kids sure did have a good time. My youth were not available however but it was nice to see Nancy's and Gay's boys. Gay was not able to attend because she came down with a nasty flu bug. The flu is on the rampage down here right now and I am crossing my fingers because John, Gay, Gran and a couple people at work have had it bad and I just do not want it.
Anyway, I guess that is about it for now. Anyone have any new years resolutions they would like to share? My resolution is to get back on my diet and get rid of the weight I gained over Christmas. Happy New Year!
